Studies in Polish – Requirements for Candidates

• A complete application form (available upon electronic registration): e-Recruitment
• Secondary School Exam and a certificate issued by The Board of Education that confirms the equality of foreign diploma with Polish ones *,**.
• Sworn translation of the diploma done by a sworn translator who is included in the sworn translators’ list of the Ministry of Justice, or of the Consul of Poland in the country where the diploma was issued
• ID card or passport (foreigners) – with the original document to be presented upon request; notarized copy in case of using the power of attorney
• One colour current photos (size 35×45mm, the whole profile of mace must be shown, without accessories, earrings and headgear, on a bright background)
• Copy of the recruitment fee payment 85 PLN (with the original document to be presented upon request)

Additionally:
For the following fields of study: Medicine, Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Cosmetology, Nursing, Medical Life Saving
– medical certificate (occupational medicine) confirming that there are no contraindications to undertake the chosen course of studies- list of harmful factors;

For the following fields of study: Medicine, Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Cosmetology, Nursing, Medical Life Saving
– certificate for sanitary- epidemiological purposes issued according to the regulations on sanitary- epidemiological examinations;

For Dietetics
– the certificate may contain the information that there are no health contraindications – capable of undertaking work in the production and handling of food;

A foreigner can be admitted to studies in Polish on the basis of the document confirming competence in Polish language (the minimum level of B1). The following certificates are accepted:
1. Polish secondary school leaving certificate
2. Certificate confirming completion of a preparatory Polish language course held by the institution appointed by the Minister of Science and Higher Education
3. Polish Language Certificate issued by the State Commission for Certification of Command of Polish as a Foreign Language, or by an institution authorised by the decision of the Minister of Science and Higher Education to hold examinations of Polish as a foreign language at the level of B1 or higher
4. Certificate confirming completion of post-primary school in which the classes were conducted in Polish

Foreigners who apply for studies in Polish with no document confirming competence in Polish language mentioned hereinabove are obliged to write a test and to take part in an interview in order to verify the language competence necessary to undertake the studies.

* It doesn’t apply to the candidate from the country included in international agreements;
** After fulfilling demanded formalities, recognition of the certificate can be done by The Board of Education appropriate for the student’s place of residence in Poland, or by the Provincial Department of Education in Krakow (due to the location of Krakow University); IB (International Baccalaureate) and EB (European Baccalaureate) diplomas don’t need recognition.
