International Business
At AFMKU we prepare you to face present and future challenges in the international business world. International Business is a first- and second-cycle programmes run by the Faculty of Law, Administration and International Relations.
The courses are conducted by the Polish as well as foreign visiting lecturers. Students get an opportunity to study over 30 courses including such standard subjects as Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, IT, International Political Relations, Sociology, Mathematics, Law, Accounting, International Trade, Statistics, Marketing or Intercultural Communication in Business and Management. The programme of studies also involves a pertinent four-week practical training. Upon the completion of studies, graduates receive Bachelor diplomas issued in accordance with the Bologna Process.

The courses are conducted by the Polish as well as foreign visiting lecturers. Students get an opportunity to study over 30 courses in 3 years (6 semesters) including such standard subjects as Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, IT, International Political Relations, Sociology, Mathematics, Law, Accounting, International Trade, Statistics, Marketing or Intercultural Communication in Business and Management. The programme of studies also involves a pertinent four-week practical training.
Upon the completion of studies, graduates receive Bachelor diplomas issued in accordance with the Bologna Process.
2nd cycle studies
The specialization path of international business in master’s studies is carried out for 4 semesters and leads to obtaining a master’s degree. As part of the master’s program in the international business specialization path, students gain knowledge in the field of (incl.):

The aim of the education process is to acquire the skills needed to conduct international business activities as well as the ability to critically analyse international political and economic processes and competences that allow to develop the understanding of social reality, decision-making and acting with the awareness of the consequences associated with these choices in the field of widely understood political and economic international cooperation.
The general knowledge acquired in the course of studies allows graduates of the specialization path of international business to work in state institutions and organizations dealing with economic cooperation with foreign countries as well as in the European Union, international organizations and diplomatic outposts. The studies prepare for conducting business in the integrating world.
Application process
In order to apply for International Business Studies at Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University the foreign candidate with a secondary school leaving certificate from the country which has signed the agreement regarding the recognition of certificates with Poland submits the following documents:
1st cycle studies
- A complete application form (available upon electronic registration):
e-Recruitment - Secondary School Exam and a certificate issued by The Board of Education that confirms the equality of foreign diploma with Polish ones *,**.
- Sworn translation of the diploma done by a sworn translator who is included in the sworn translators’ list of the Ministry of Justice, or of the Consul of Poland in the country where the diploma was issued.
- ID card or passport (foreigners) – with the original document to be presented upon request; notarized copy in case of using the power of attorney
- One colour current photos (size 35×45mm, the whole profile of mace must be shown, without accessories, earrings and headgear, on a bright background)
- Language diploma or certificate which confirms level of English at required level. In the case of lack of language diploma or certificate, positive result of placement test guarantees the admission
- Copy of the birth certificate with translation (concerns foreigners)
- Recruitment fee payment;
* It doesn’t apply to the candidate from the country included in international agreements;
** After fulfilling demanded formalities, recognition of the certificate can be done by The Board of Education appropriate for the student’s place of residence in Poland, or by the Provincial Department of Education in Krakow (due to the location of Krakow University); IB (International Baccalaureate) and EB (European Baccalaureate) diplomas don’t need recognition.
2nd cycle studies – Recruitment is closed

* a certificate from your home University that confirms your ability to continue studiesin the country where the diploma was issued (unless this information is includes in the diploma’s content;
** the opinion or certificate of the Ministry of Higher Education which confirms accreditation of the university, which issued the diploma;
*** the certificates mentioned above don’t apply to the candidates from the countries included in international agreements.
Please note!
The candidate with a secondary school leaving certificate from the country which does not have an agreement regarding the recognition of certificates with Poland submits the same above-mentioned documents, but the secondary school leaving certificate in addition has to undegro a recognition process through the ‘nostrification’ procedure. Confirmation of the fact that the certificate is in the process of recognition also has to be submitted, too.
‘Nostrification’ of secondary school leaving certificates
According to the Polish regulations, a school certificate obtained abroad in a country that does not have an agreement on recognition of certificates with Poland has to be validated in the country in which it was issued and then presented to the kuratorium oświaty (local educational authority) in Poland, which is responsible for the nostrification
The English language qualification
The prospective candidate is required to have the ample knowledge of the English language, which will have to be confirmed with one of the following language certificates in order to be enrolled for the studies without the necessity to undergo entrance language examination at the Krakow University

Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University is the approved LanguageCert Online Examination Partner.

LanguageCert INTERNATIONAL ESOL (IESOL) is one of the certificates accepted by Krakowska Akademia during the admissions process as proof of adequate language proficiency for studies in English.
Accepted levels: Communicator B2, Expert C1 or Mastery C2
Accepted format: WRITTEN EXAM LRW (Listening, Reading, Writing)
Candidates applying for studies in English at Krakowska Akademia can take the IESOL exam completely online with a 15% discount. To claim the 15% discount use the Krakowska Akademia PROMO CODE: 469209.
It is advised to start the procedure at least four months before the deadline especially if the candidate requires a student visa since it may take up to three months before it is issued.
The decision concerning admission for the studies upon the analysis of the candidate’s documentation is undertaken by the Faculty Recruitment Commission. The candidate admitted for studies is required to cover the registration fee and tuition fee.

Recruitment fee: 85 PLN (100 PLN is paid by those candidates who take the English language examination confirming their B2 level knowledge);
